We here at HapiFoods are no strangers to standing sideways in a mirror and patting our bellies, lamenting a long carb-laden winter, but we also recognize that a healthy weight may not mean looking like a movie star.
Everyone here is very much of the belief that being healthy is a combination of food and exercise, says Lori from Holy Crap’s headquarters in Gibsons, BC.
Going to extremes is not healthy either. Over the years there have been a number of fad diets, but for those of you who are looking for the middle path—a level-headed approach to maintaining a healthy weight, here are a few tips:
1. Eat breakfast Some studies indicate that adults who skip breakfast are four times more likely to be obese than people who eat breakfast.
2.Make breakfast the night before You won’t have any excuses not to eat breakfast if you make it the night before. This will not only save time in the morning but will likely inspire you to make your first meal a healthy one.
3. Eat protein to curb cravings Does it sometimes feel like there is a gremlin in your belly who will do absolutely anything to get a salty or sugary treat? Well, one of the easiest ways to combat cravings is to ensure you get enough protein with each meal and to drink eight glasses of water a day. Carry a few almonds with you or an apple at any time so you can snack on something healthy if a craving strikes. After a while, the gremlin will pipe down.
4. Exercise Find something you love to do and do it! If you have a hard time staying motivated, pay for a once-a-week class in something you enjoy, and if you work at a computer all day, a social or team sport might offer a good break.
5. Choose to love yourself no matter what weight you are We are often our own worst critics and the unfortunate fact is that being hard on ourselves is a way of giving permission for others to do the same.
True self esteem comes from compassion towards ourselves.
Holy Crap is a high-protein, energy-rich breakfast food that you can prepare the night before and will give you the energy you require to exercise. We are not saying that it is the only option for those who want to be a healthy weight, but it can be a useful tool.

I have just started to use Skinny B and can definitely tell you that I do feel full longer - my weakness is forgetting to eat and then I am so hungry I would eat practically anything which generally means drive through—I can easily carry Skinny B with me so am eating better.—Deb Armstrong
