Mega Berry Homemade Jam

The gelling effect of the chia seeds inHoly CrapNatural Superseed Blend cereal makes it a perfect alternative to using sugar and pectin in jam. And no cooking required! The neutral flavour of the Natural Superseed Blend lets the fruit shine.

We don’t usually use sweetener in this jam, as we’ve noticed the less refined sugars we eat, the sweeter fruit tastes, but you might want to add a little of your preferred sweetener if your fruit is especially tart.

During the summer months, Natural Superseed Blend Jam is a great way to enjoy the abundance of local raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries. In winter, this recipe works just as well with thawed, frozen fruit. A squeeze of lime or lemon brightens the flavour.

Feel free to experiment a little by adding a teaspoon of finely minced jalapeño pepper, basil, or mint when the ingredients and mood present themselves. Spread Natural Superseed Blend Jam lavishly on toast or pancakes.
